Shipping connected to the order

Farm Shipping Software | Cold Products, Rates, and Labels

PurveyOS helps producers turn a customer order into a planned shipment without rebuilding the items, weights, destination, and fulfillment details in a separate tool.

Use product temperature profiles, shipping schedules, packaging options, weather guidance, available carrier rates, and printable labels in one shipment-planning workflow.

Build the shipment from the actual order

The shipment planner starts with the order and its line items rather than asking the producer to create a disconnected shipment record. Destination details, product weights, confirmed package information, and the selected ship date stay attached to the order workflow.

When an order contains products with different handling needs, PurveyOS can plan cold and ambient groups separately. The result may be more than one package and label for the same customer order.

  • Use order items and destination details
  • Classify products by temperature profile
  • Separate cold and ambient groups when needed
  • Keep the selected shipment details with the order

Review packaging and weather guidance before buying a label

For cold shipments, PurveyOS evaluates the configured product temperature profile, package weight, box options, transit estimate, and available forecast data. It presents a weather-risk view and packaging recommendations so the producer can review the plan before confirming it.

These calculations are planning guidance, not a food-safety guarantee. The producer remains responsible for validating insulation, refrigerant, carrier rules, product condition, destination restrictions, and safe transit time for each shipment.

  • Frozen, refrigerated, and ambient product profiles
  • Configured insulated and basic box options
  • Dry-ice and cooling guidance for cold shipments
  • Weather-risk summary across the planned transit window

Choose an available service and create the label

PurveyOS requests rates for the planned package and shows the eligible services returned by the configured shipping integration. For frozen shipments, the workflow applies its frozen-service policy before presenting a recommendation; the producer still reviews the service and transit details before purchase.

After a rate is selected, the producer can purchase the label, open it for printing, and retain the shipment record with the order. A purchased label can also be voided through the supported label workflow when the connected carrier service permits it.

  • Review rate and estimated transit time
  • Select from eligible returned services
  • Purchase and print a shipping label
  • Void a supported unused label when necessary

Control when and where storefront shipping is offered

Shipping settings let the producer define ship days, cutoff time, timezone, blackout dates, origin ZIP code, pricing rules, and the destination states offered through the storefront. Storefront pricing can use a configured flat charge or calculated pricing with a markup, minimum, and optional free-shipping threshold.

Those settings help prevent the storefront from promising dates or destinations the producer has not configured, but they do not override carrier availability or laws governing what may be shipped.

Frequently asked questions

Does PurveyOS automatically guarantee that frozen products will arrive safely?

No. PurveyOS provides temperature, weather, packaging, and transit planning guidance. The producer must confirm food-safety practices, packaging performance, carrier rules, and the suitability of every shipment.

Does PurveyOS show shipping rates?

Yes. The shipment workflow can request eligible rates for the planned package through the configured shipping integration. Available carriers and services depend on the destination, package, account configuration, and outside service availability.

Can one order create more than one shipment?

Yes. A mixed order can be separated into cold and ambient package groups, and the final plan may require multiple labels.

Can I choose which days I ship?

Yes. Producers can configure ship days, a daily cutoff, timezone, blackout dates, and an estimated transit window.

Can PurveyOS restrict storefront shipping destinations?

Yes. Producers can select the destination states where storefront shipping is offered. Carrier service and product-law requirements still need to be verified independently.
